– Active military members and veterans will sit in the Quicken Loans Dream Seats and wave a field-sized American flag before the game –
DETROIT, November 22, 2013 – Detroit-based Quicken Loans, the nation’s largest online home lender, together with The Detroit Lions, today announced it will be honoring those who have served our country by saluting 150 active-duty and veteran military members at the Detroit Lions game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, November 24.
In addition to attending the game, 26 active-duty service members and 24 Quicken Loans team members, who also served in the military, will be sitting in the Quicken Loans Dream Seats — a seating area like no other in the National Football League featuring overstuffed black lounge chairs and personal large-screen high-definition televisions at every seat.
All 150 service members will have a very special game experience, beginning with the opportunity to greet the Lions on the field as the team enters the stadium. Then, they will help wave a United States flag spanning the entire length of the football field, before heading to their special seating to take in the game.
“Quicken Loans is proud to be part of this event and to recognize those who have given so much to keep us all free and safe,” said Jay Farner, President and Chief Marketing Officer of Quicken Loans. “We are committed to honoring our military through veteran hiring programs, offering military loan programs, supporting military charities and special events like this weekend where we pause to say thanks and help to create a lifelong memory for the heroes who are willing to selflessly sacrifice to protect our country.”
Quicken Loans offers a special mortgage program called the VA loan which allows veterans, surviving spouses and active members of the military to refinance up to 100 percent of their home’s value or purchase a home with no down payment and no mortgage insurance payments, among other benefits. To date, Quicken Loans has helped nearly 70,000 military families with this program alone.
The company also has a military recruiting program that is led by John Gardner, a veteran. The program sets veterans up for success by providing the support and training helpful in transitioning to civilian life for a successful and fulfilling career. Quicken Loans was recently named a top military friendly employer by G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.
Continuing its commitment to veterans, Quicken Loans’ team members volunteer at military organizations, and the company has donated to many charities that help our veterans including Operation Home Front, Honor Flight and Piquette Square.
